We built four custom collar trusses using 8″ x 10″ principal rafters and 3″ x 16″ collar ties.
This was a refreshing job as the timbers were left rough-sawn. By snapping lines and using our square rule system, precise joinery could be laid out. Fully housed purlins with wedged dovetails tie the trusses to each other.
The timbers were cleaned up with a special nylon powered brush which kept the texture of the rough sawn timber. Finally, stain was applied to bring the grain out to its full potential.
