About Wise Owl Joinery Co.: Our Inventory of Seasoned Timbers

We maintain an inventory of seasoned wood to use in your project. The advantages of seasoned timbers include:

• Tighter joints. Seasoned timbers shrink much less than green ones when moved into an indoor environment.
• They give a nicer finish with stain or oil.
• Drier timbers are lighter than heavy green timbers which are the industry norm.
• Quicker turnaround, as we have the material here and are not racing to the mill to get the timbers we need.

Along the entire length of the north side of our workshop is a 6 foot overhang (above) to store white pine timbers to protect them from the elements as they season.

On the south side (left), we put together custom heavy duty storage racks with protective steel roofs where we store more timbers. Also in the racks are juniper, hemlock and eastern white cedar seasoning for future custom fences, gates, arbors or pavilions. We have examples of these structures on our own property for viewing and use.
