16' x 24' timber cottage

This frame utilizes timbers very efficiently.  With a small footprint but a steeply pitched roof, it boasts 600 sq. ft. of living space.  An added mudroom and timber verandah for hot summer days would make life that much easier.

The substantial summer beams with an oak hardwood spline joining them highlight the middle of this cottage.  The steep 18/12 pitch roof provides more headroom upstairs.

The floor joists are fully housed, dovetailed and double wedged.  This gem is packed with good solid joinery.  The structure would have a low impact on any country lot or location near water.
