Custom, rough-hewn stairs
We get involved in helping clients add architectural timber elements to their projects. This one involved a custom set of white pine stairs with newel post and railing. The clients were looking for texture and a cottage feel.
Leaving all the surfaces of the wood rough sawn, Wise Owl Joinery used a special nylon brush to clean up the surfaces after the joinery was completed.
You can see when the light hits the stairs and railing that the saw marks from the mill are still very pronounced.
A dark, Early American-type stain was used.
