Wise Owl Joinery's own office
Entry doors,
Custom stairs,
Library wall and
Double-bitted axe table
In the winter of 2009 we took a break from clients’ work and completed a few overdue projects of our own.
First we tackled the stairway to the office. Custom newel posts matching our outdoor fence, unique tapered spindles and contrasting treads and risers highlight this showpiece.
The library wall carries on the theme with heavy plank vertical members, with contrasting ebony veneered shelving and capped with 4x12” cantilevered pine plank. It's a wonderful spot to hold over 22 years worth of valuable information and to showcase some prized timber framing tools.
The third phase brought us to the conference table. Using our standard timber horses in the shop as a base, we added some curves and embellishments to make them a bit more pleasing to the eye. For the top, we used 4” thick pine planks, leaving the top side rough sawn but cleaned up with our special nylon brush.
Finally, we cut the top out on the shape of a double bitted axe. Now clients can feel at home while they leaf through 3-D drawings, magazines and past projects of Wise Owl Joinery over a cup of coffee. It’s a great meeting room.
